I dream of LV Biker Bag
I recently had the pleasure of acquiring the newly launched LV Biker bag! Its soft "pixel" lamb leather with cowhide trim makes it possible to use almost daily (with lots of tender love and care!).
I had originally planned to buy the Neverfull Bandoulière Inside Out MM, but then I saw the LV Biker bag featured on The Fashionography and it was truly love at first sight. I found the shape of the bag and the contrast of the greige (not grey, like it says on the LV website) against the black trim to be striking. The small LV symbol and gold hardware gave it a touch of elegance while the style of the bag with its side straps that gave it a curvy silhouette made me think "biker chick".
I instantly texted my Louis Vuitton Client Advisor and inquired about the bag. She told me it was available for pre-order and whether she should order it for me as the window to pre-order was coming to a close. It was well outside of my budget so I went back and forth a lot. I was obsessed with it though and by the time I decided to take the plunge- it was too late! The opportunity to pre-order had closed! I knew this piece would be a hot ticket item for the new spring/summer line-up. Luckily, a few days later, I was messaged while out of the country that the bag was available to order again! So I did!
As it made its way to the store I was still unsure if the investment would be worth the hype in my head. Of course, I could always return it if I didn't like it. When it came in, my Client Advisor texted me and told me she knew I'd love it- it was stunning! When I arrived to the Louis Vuitton store, I was presented with the bag and my initial thought was that it looked small. I had asked for the PM, because it was the only option for the greige colour, thinking it would be big enough. I explained this to the staff helping me and she insisted I'd made the right choice. Then she opened the bag and showed me how spacious it was inside. She told me to place all the 10 keys (slight exaggeration) on my lanyard into the bag, along with my card holder and cell phone, and I was amazed that there was still more room for sunglasses and/or a wallet. I'm pretty sure there would still be room left for my lipstick and compact (as if I ever would!).
I inspected it with scrutiny as the staff went to fetch a box for it. I felt it could have been presented to me a little more luxuriously, considering the dime I'd just spent. I had not seen the attachable/detachable strap that came with the bag in pictures online but when I saw it I thought it looked very.. biker-girl/ chic lol. It's a purse that can be worn in the hand or on the elbow, for a more polished look and as a shoulder bag or cross-body for a more casual look. I definitely won't be wearing it with jeans and a T-shirt though it would probably go with that too. It's a really versatile bag.
Walking out of the store, I felt no buyer's remorse. That's always the first sign to me that I've made a mistake. And it would be an expensive one to have made.. had I made it. I walked away with a cool confidence in my decision as my brain travelled to the Gucci store and thought about what my next purchase would be. lol.
