Smells of money!
Until recently, I thought $150.00 for perfume was a lot to invest in something you couldn't see lol. I also have learned that not only is this false, but some fragrances are less potent with virtually no staying power. Working in Healthcare, I gravitated to this. While I have some perfumes which are 10-15% concentrated, some of my favorite fragrances are an eau de toilette. At the time I bought them I was ignorant to the difference in potency, which dictates the price.
Having said that I came across some highly acclaimed fragrances in the hundreds of dollars ($600-$800). There were some that were simply astronomical and not on my lifetime wishlist. However, the fragrances under the $1000.00 limit were fair game. My ultimate fragrance to smell and to own is the Baccarat Rouge 540 (EXTRAIT DE PARFUM). A 70ml bottle sells for $645.00 CAD. Keep in mind it's an extract. The highest concentration and most staying power. The only other concentrated fragrance I know that stays that long is oud. My Grandma loved oud. I still have her bottle of oud since she passed on because it reminds me of her.
Anyway..I was given some wonderful fragrances by my LV concierge, Onice. They both smell great! We have the Attrape-rêves and Stellar Times. The Stellar runs about $630, where the 1st one is around $430. The Stellar is an extract and such a unique scent. I love it. The Attrape-rêves is on a sweeter side but it's so well balanced out with other scents it doesn't over power. I don't like sweet fragrances but I REALLY like this one. After some debate and in discussion with Onice, I decided to go with the Stellar. For special occasions. The bottle is refillable, engraved with my name, and beautifully, uniquely designed. Stellar has a hint of leather and mint which almost makes it unisex. If my husband tries to use it though I'll be hiding it somewhere safe!
If $630 or even $430 for a bottle of perfume is too much, there are some great picks which are luxurious and easier on the pocket book. My top fragrances are: Escape (Calvin Klein); Vera Wang eau de parfum; Gucci Flora; Prada Candy Florale. The last two are an eau de toilette, so beware of their weak staying power. I do also like Thierry Mugler Angel, I get compliments on it when I wear it and I find its a scent that sticks, but I'm not a loyal follower.
Now! To introduce my new extract parfum... STELLAR TIMES:
Tada!
